Palazzo del Monte di Pietà, Padova
To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Great War in 2015, the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo is presenting a photographic exhibit at the Palazzo del Monte di Pietà in Padova which investigates war over the course of the last century. Curated by Walter Guadagnini Questa è guerra (This is War!) analyzes the main conflicts, starting from the First World War up to the most important conflicts of the XXI century: from the Spanish Civil War to World War II to the War in Algeria and Vietnam, until the present conflicts in Syria and Crimea. The exhibition includes work by Eve Arnold, Gabriele Basilico, Robert Capa, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Don McCullin, Susan Meiselas, Boris Mikhailov, Richard Mosse, Gilles Peress, August Sander and William Eugene Smith among others. Studio Equis collaborated in this exhibition with the loan of vintage prints by Tadahiko Hayashi from the series Kasutori Jidai (Days in the Dregs) on the post-war years in Tokyo.
